Welcome to the Chair of International Business

The Chair of International Business (under the direction of Univ. Prof. Dr. Emmanuella Plakoyiannaki) was recently founded and is part of the Department of Marketing and International Business

International Business embraces all cross border activities of organisations and entails transfer of goods, services, resources, people, ideas and technologies. Living in a dynamic globalized world, International Business affects our everyday life and decisions as consumers, managers and policy makers.

The vision of the Chair is to develop outstanding and relevant International Business research and pedagogy, and to add to the understanding of the global business environment, for the benefit of students, managers, policy makers and society.

The research focus of the Chair of International Business includes: SMEs internationalisation & micromultinationals, family firms internationalisation, international new ventures and language in International Business. A distinguishing feature of the Chair of International Business is its methodological diversity that accommodates qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods research designs.

Univ.-Prof. Dr. Emmanuella Plakoyiannaki is presented with the IMTC Award

During the 23rd International Marketing Trends Conference (IMTC) hosted  on 18-20 January 2024 in Venice, Italy, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Emmanuella Plakoyiannaki received the IMTC Award. 

The IMTC Award was presented for advancing knowledge in the areas of International Business and Qualitative Methodology.
