Katharine Gundolf joined the Department of Marketing and International Business in October 2025 as a professor and lecturer. She is affiliated with the Chair of International Business. She did her PhD in 2006 at the University of Montpellier, France and her Habilitation in 2010 at the University of Aix-Marseille.

Prior to joining the University of Vienna, she was Director of the Doctoral School and Professor at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. Before 2020, she held a Full Professorship at Montpellier Business School and served as Head of the Entrepreneurship Center and the Master's Program in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Leadership.

She held diverse visiting appointments at the University of Luxembourg, the WU in Vienna, and Colorado State University, among others.

She is co-owner of a winery.

Her research primarily focuses on a wide range of topics, but especially on Entrepreneurship and SME Management (including strategic alliances, microfirms, and entrepreneurial behavior); on Coopetition and Inter-organizational Relations; on Sustainability and Business Model Innovation, and on Behavioral Aspects in Management, including studies on the Dark Triad, religiosity, and ethics in business.

Her work has been published in leading academic journals, such as Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Cleaner Production, Assessment, and International Small Business Journal.
